[Ferro-alloys.com] The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the National Energy Administration of China on Tuesday combined to announce performance of elimination of outdated capacity for 2011.
In 2011, China dismantled obsolete capacity including 31.92 million tons of iron, 28.46 million tons of steel-making, 20.06 million tons of coking coal, 2.127 million tons of ferroalloy, 1.519 million tons of calcium carbide, and etc.
Backward facilities of 26 companies had been shut down, but had yet to be completely pulled down due to employment and debt issues.
