Hebei Iron & Steel Sales Up by 32% in 2008

Shanghai Securities News reported that sales of Hebei Iron and Steel Group shot up 32% in 2008 to CNY 165 billion.
 
It did not give details on the group's 2008 output, but said that it plans to produce 38 million tonnes of iron and 41 million tonnes of steel this year.
 
Hebei Iron and Steel Group was formed in 2008 through the merger of a number of steel companies in the northern province of Hebei, with the aim of overtaking Baosteel as the country's top steel maker.
