Benxi Steel closes 1070 cubic meters BF

In response to the national steel industry policy to wash out obsolete capacity and create environment-friendly steel mill, Liaoning based Benxi Steel closed down its 1070 cubic meters 3# blast furnace on October 8th which has run for 50 years and churned out over 30 million tonnes of quality pig iron.
 
As per report on October 9th the steel mill's new 1# blast furnace was successfully ignited, with designed capacity of 3.5 million tonnes of pig iron per year.
