On January 9, Zhanjiang steel plant of Baosteel Co., Ltd. was filled with a festive atmosphere. Sheng Genghong, member of the Standing Committee of the Party committee and deputy general manager of Baosteel, and Liu Daide, Secretary of the Party committee and chairman of Zhanjiang iron and Steel Co., Ltd., respectively issued heat load test orders for No. 4 converter and No. 3 caster. The hot metal was smoothly mixed into No. 4 converter and successfully discharged from No. 3 caster after blowing, refining, casting and other operations, marking the heat load of converter and continuous casting project of Zhanjiang iron and Steel Co., Ltd. It is the first main project of thermal load test that run three high furnace system.
Zhanjiang steel's three high furnace system steelmaking and continuous casting project aims at high-strength steel, silicon steel and other high value-added products, with an annual design capacity of 3.6 million tons of qualified slabs. It adopts intelligent equipment such as automatic pouring, slag stripping, tapping and pouring, tundish robot, remote mechanical cleaning and other intelligent manufacturing technologies such as Kr centralized control of hot metal, continuous casting full centralized control and intelligent pouring. After No.4 converter and No.3 caster are put into operation, the annual total capacity of steelmaking will achieve a new leap, and strive to become the largest single steelmaking workshop in China.
