China's customs data showed that China’s finished steel exports over January-February 2020 fell 27% year on year to 7.811 million tonnes.

Hoa Phat Group, the largest steel maker in Vietnam, exported over 40,000 tonnes of construction steel in February, almost tripling that of the same period last year.

China exported 7.811 million tons of steel in the first two month of 2020, down by 2.886 million tons (27%) vs. the same period in 2019.

Through 2019, China exported a total of 64.29 million tons of steel, down by 7.3% vs. the same period in 2018.

Hoa Phat posts 11.3-pct rise in construction steel export volume.

According to the General Department of Customs, Vietnam imported a total 944,865 tonnes of steel in January, a YoY drop of 18 percent. The strongest falls were from Russia down 97 percent.

China exported a total of 31535.258 tons of ferrosilicon (≤55%) in 2019.
