Chrome ore prices of Odisha mining Corporation (OMC) have increased for the outside-state buyers in the e-auction held on 20 Aug, 2014. However, for the Odisha based buyers, it has declined for few grades.

According to statistic of Japan Customs, Japan imported 202.9 tons of calcium carbide, up by 21.1% Y-O-Y. The materials were mainly imported from China with import volume at 132 tons.

Organosilicon price increased and the DMC price was RMB 16800-17500/mt in mid August in China. There were no stocks in most organosilicon factories, so chemical Si metal prices rose. Factories all produced chemical Si metal by orders.

The imported CaSi volume from China was about 200 tons in August in India.

In Bhutan, Ferro Silicon prices remain unaltered as there is recovery in demand from buyers. 70-75 grade is being traded at around INR 77,500/MT (ex-Bhutan). Prices are stable with keener buying interest from end-users in India. Market sources said good demand...
